The texts (both written and oral) are placed in the larger matrix of culture to research on various issues related to history, society, polity. The literary texts are read and interpreted in the light of recent theories so as to re-read them from the context of the present. The Department has so far organized several seminars and come out with publications on Cultural interface of old texts from the point of view of present context of globalization, nativism and other issues.[\/stm_title][vc_single_image image=”10399″ img_size=”1000×400″ style=”vc_box_shadow_3d”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/h6>\n

As Per Directions of the Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court of India, the UGC has prepared the Regulation on curbing the menace of raging in Higher Education Instructions, 2009 and UGC letter D.O.No.1-15\/2015(ARC)Pt.1 dated 25 May 2018. our Kannada University as accepted the above mandatory Regulation and Recruiting a Cell Called\u00a0 Anti-Ragging Cell[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Title, Commencement and Applicability<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1 These regulations shall be called the \u201cKannada University, Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in the University and its Extension Centers\u201d.<\/p>\n

1.2 They shall come into force from the date of their notification by the University.<\/p>\n

1.3 They shall apply to Kannada University, Hampi and all the institutions affiliated to Kannada University, Hampi, including the elements of the University and Institutions such as the departments, constituent units and all the premises, whether being academic, residential, playgrounds, canteen, or other such premises of the University and affiliated institutions, whether located within the campus or outside, and to all means of transportation of students, whether public or private, accessed by students for the pursuit of studies in the University and its affiliated institutions.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological\/Physical harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student; and thereby, to eliminate ragging in all its forms from the Universities and its affiliated institutions, preventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these Regulations and the appropriate law for the time being in force.<\/p>\n
