Study Centers<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The texts (both written and oral) are placed in the larger matrix of culture to research on various issues related to history, society, polity. The literary texts are read and interpreted in the light of recent theories so as to re-read them from the context of the present. The Department has so far organized several seminars and come out with publications on Cultural interface of old texts from the point of view of present context of globalization, nativism and other issues.[\/stm_title][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1551353409867{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}” el_id=”welcome-about”][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”3886″ img_size=”1000X300″][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”language-list”]Translation Center was instituted at Kannada University, Hampi in 2005 in order to ensure the mutual translation between Kannada and other languages.<\/p>\n

Main objectives of the center are as below:<\/strong><\/h6>\n
    \n
  • To translate selected classical works of Kannada to other languages.<\/li>\n
  • To translate the works which present the contemporary attitude and tendency of Kannada to other languages and vice versa.<\/li>\n
  • To prepare comprehensive and representative readers of the classical and contemporary writers of Kannada in English. In the same way the readers to be prepared in Kannada on writers of other languages.<\/li>\n
  • To translate Kannada research works to other languages and vice versa. With the help of the translators the primary need is to introduce the Kannada in English. It collaborates with Academics and Publishers of the other languages for Publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We invite the scholars to the translation center for translation project, if necessary and arrange the work shop. For translation the preference should be given to the direct translation. For the publication purpose the help of other institutions could be sought. Every year a longtime plan has to be made to invite different scholars of different languages.<\/p>\n
