[\/vc_column_text][stm_wp_custommenu nav_menu=”67″ width=”100%” el_class=”about-menu”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][stm_title title_tag=”h5″ title_color=”custom” page_title_enable=”true” title_color_custom=”#000000″ title_margin_b=”10px”]The focus of the department is to take up systematic study of Kannada Lliterature in the sense of creative writing and also in the sense of all texts in Kannada both oral and written. The texts (both written and oral) are placed in the larger matrix of culture to research on various issues related to history, society, polity. The literary texts are read and interpreted in the light of recent theories so as to re-read them from the context of the present. The Department has so far organized several seminars and come out with publications on Cultural interface of old texts from the point of view of present context of globalization, nativism and other issues.[\/stm_title][vc_single_image image=”5441″ img_size=”1000×300″ style=”vc_box_shadow_3d”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/strong><\/h6>\n

A special Cell for the welfare of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in Kannada University has come into existence for effective implementation of the programmes and policies of reservation. The Cell is advised by a Standing Committee on various policy matters pertaining to academic and non-academic matters under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor. The Coordinator is in charge of SC\/ST Cell.<\/p>\n

The Cell awards SC\/ST research fellowships and contingency grants to the M.Phil., Ph.D. students. It also extends financial assistance to various programmes such as study tour, preparation of dissertation\/project reports, purchase of sports kits and computer training. Training programmes for the SC\/ST students appearing for UGC\/JRF\/Lectureship examinations, IAS, KAS, NET, K-Set, F.D.A, S.D.A and other competitive examinations facilities awareness programme, career guidance and personality development programmes are also conducted.<\/p>\n

A database of the SC\/ST students studying in the Kannada University and in the satellite centre (Extension Centre) as well as a recognized institution of Kannada University, Hampi is maintained in the SC\/ST Cell.<\/p>\n

SC\/ST Cell is in charge of getting scholarships, EBL charges of the hostel inmates and reimbursement of fees from the Government for SC\/ST students studying in the various courses namely M.A.Ph.D., M.Phil., Ph.D., M.V.A, M.Music, B.Music and other Departments.<\/p>\n
