The texts (both written and oral) are placed in the larger matrix of culture to research on various issues related to history, society, polity. The literary texts are read and interpreted in the light of recent theories so as to re-read them from the context of the present. Beside an intention of Karnataka cultural representative artifacts collect for setup Museum in Kannada University campus.\u00a0 In 1996, the Department of Museum was inaugurated to address the local aspirations, uniquely trimmed with the Hampi World Heritage package. From the very beginning the Department of museum has been successfully and meaningfully accomplishing its designated programmes with an accent on collection and displaying artifacts of Karnataka Art, Archaeology, Folklore and tribal etc. in the University campus.<\/p>\n<p>The Department had already collected more than 300 pieces of ancient sculptures including inscriptions, hero stones, architectural objects, including folklore and tribal artifacts, paintings etc. The Museum will be developed on the model of Archaeological Survey of India and maintained by Archaeology, Folklore and Tribal Departments of various States in India.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum consists of 5 galleries represents art and culture of entire Karnataka which represents Archaeology, Folklore, Tribal, Painting and selected photographs of selected monuments, inscriptions, Kannada writers etc.<\/p>\n<p>In the gallery 1 (Pls. 6 &amp;7) displayed the archaeological objects like stone tools, iron objects like swords, dagger etc. The small sculptures of different periods and pottery are exhibited in the show cases. Apart from these, tribal materials of different communities are also displayed in the gallery show eases.<\/p>\n<p>In the gallery II (Pls. 8,9 &amp; 10) displayed modern painting prepared by University artists and painters.<\/p>\n<p>In the gallery III (Pls. 11, 12, 13, 14 &amp; 15) displayed photographs of renowned Kannada poets, writers, dramatists, musicians, artists., of Jnana Peetha, Central and State award winners.<\/p>\n<p>In the gallery IV (Pls. 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 &amp; 21) displayed photographs of selected important Monuments and Inscriptions of Karnataka.<\/p>\n<p>In the gallery V (Pls. 22, 23, 24 &amp; 25) displayed folklore materials like bronze objects, wooden objects, leather objects, agricultural impliments ets., collected from different parts of Karnataka<\/p>\n<p>Around the Museum building exhibited (pl. 4) sculptures, inscription of different period collected from Bellary, Koppal and Davanagere districts.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Major Objectives of Department&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1551784773264-d4aa5df4-b003&#8243;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;language-list&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Major Contribution <\/strong><strong>of the Department :<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;language-list&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Department of museum and Tourism Research Centre has been successfully and meaningfully accomplishing its designated programs with an accent on collection and displaying artifacts of Karnataka Art, Archaeology, Folklore, tribal, Paintings and Audio-Videos, Photography etc. in the University campus.<\/li>\n<li>The Museum will be developed on the model of Archaeological Survey of India and maintained by Archaeology, Folklore and Tribal Departments of various States in India.<\/li>\n<li>The Department proposes to conduct workshops to bring about awareness among the common man, semi-literate, teachers, students of High school, Intermediate and Degree level, Research scholars, Tourist Guides about the importance of historical, archaeological sites and monuments and its preservation for future generation.<\/li>\n<li>The Department has been intended to start P.G.
